Break it UP

Break It Up

Kyra Armijo is making a few changes in her life. One of them being, she's no longer going to give it up to every guy who looks at her twice. And she's putting her hopes and dreams for her future first. When the aspiring photojournalist gets the opportunity of a lifetime to tag along with international boy band sensation, Triple Cross, she can't pass up the chance.

The only problem is that she's in love with one band member, dodging the unwanted attention of another, and desperate to keep her turbulent past under wraps. Triple Cross have "nice guy" appeal, approved of by parents the world over, but have just let go their longtime manager, who controlled their clean image and media exposure with an iron fist. When Zach Wechsler, the object of Kyra's affection, begins to show interest, she has to be careful.

Surely one girl can't destroy a band that's been together for ten years... only what if she can? Kyra knows she's one bad decision away from ruining everything she's worked for, and taking the hottest act of her generation down with her. Description and Cover taken from Goodreads.
My thoughts about the book: E.M. Tippetts is one of my favorite authors. I haven't read a book she's written that I haven't loved.

This was a fantastic coming of age story filled with a sweet romance. Kyra, the heroine of the story, who we first met in Tippet's Someone Else's Fairytale books is a reformed party girl with a good head on her shoulders. Yes, she has made some mistakes in her past but has been working on cleaning up her life and becoming responsible. She was a delight to read about. She kept sticking her neck out when people needed her, even if she knew it might cause problems for her.

Zach is her love interest in the book. It was nice to read about an actual nice boy in a book. Even though I really liked him and understood (to a degree) his reactions when things went wrong, I still kinda wanted to slap him. But I feel like Tippets showed realistically how he went from an overprotected boy bander to becoming an actual adult.

Kyra went through a lot in this book and she faced the problems head on. It showed what a strong character she was and how much she's grown throughout the series. I loved the strong family bonds in this book. The scenes Kyra had with Jason and her conversations with Chloe were my favorite of the book. I want to read more about Kyra and Zach. I'm interested to see the next stage in their life and I'm wondering what the next stage in his career is. I'm also hoping for more Jason and Chloe!
